Below is the detailed schedule for President-elect Trump’s inauguration ceremony.
January 19
Official inauguration activities began on the afternoon of January 19.
3:00 p.m.: President-elect Trump will conduct a number of traditional inauguration ceremonies including: laying a wreath at Arlington National Memorial to commemorate the soldiers who fell for the country.
4:00 p.m.: Welcome ceremony with the slogan `Make America great again`.
7:30 p.m.: Candlelight dinner party
President-elect Trump and Vice President-elect Mike Pence and their families will have a candlelit dinner party in Washington to thank the sponsors who sponsored the inauguration.
January 20
If tradition is followed, Trump’s family and guests will have breakfast together at Blair House – the president’s living room.
8:30 am: Prayer service
The President-elect and his family will have a prayer service at St.
9:30 Tea party between `travelers` and `residents`
Outgoing President Barack Obama and President-elect Donald Trump along with their two wives will have tea together at the White House before Mr. Obama and Mr. Trump go to the Capitol together to prepare for the swearing-in ceremony.
11:30 a.m.: Oath of office
The swearing-in ceremony will take place outside the Capitol.
The oath-taking ceremony will take place in the West Wing of the Capitol in the presence of guests and hundreds of thousands of Americans.
Next, the new US President will give his inauguration speech.
Goodbye to President Obama: Immediately after the swearing-in ceremony of President-elect Trump, President Obama’s family will say goodbye from the East wing of the Capitol.
Lunch party
President-elect Trump and his wife.
After the inauguration, Mr. Trump will have a luncheon with government officials and friends at the Capitol Rotunda.
Reassess the military force
After lunch, new President Trump will give a speech reevaluating US military forces in the East wing of the Capitol.
Inaugural parade
President Trump and Vice President Pence will lead a procession of thousands of soldiers from the Capitol along Pennsylvania Avenue.
7:00 p.m.: Dance party
There will be two formal balls held at the Walter E. Washington Convention Center, and one more in the Army Ballroom.
January 21
10 a.m.: Washington National Cathedral will conduct a traditional prayer service for the new President and Vice President to begin their term.
