(Dan Tri) – While Indian public opinion is boiling with anger after a border clash with China, an Indian minister has called for a boycott of Chinese goods.

The boycott call by Indian officials came after a clash between Indian and Chinese soldiers in the Galwan valley on the disputed Kasmir border on the evening of June 15.

The Indian army confirmed that 20 of its soldiers died after the clash, while China has so far avoided mentioning casualties.

The incident sparked a wave of anger in India.

During protests against China on the streets in many places in India, people burned Chinese flags and goods to show opposition to the actions of the neighboring country sharing a common border.

Indian officials said they plan to increase tariffs on about 300 items imported from China.

India’s Telecom Minister has asked state-owned telecom providers and private enterprises to ban all future deals with China.
