Yesterday (April 23), head coach Tran Dinh Tien announced the list of 16 players called up to the national team in 2024.
High performing names such as Nguyen Ngoc Thuan, Dinh Van Duy, Huynh Trung Truc were all summoned;
Tu Thanh Thuan’s absence from this gathering is extremely unfortunate
Although he no longer plays regularly in the official squad due to fierce competition with Pham Quoc Du, Tu Thanh Thuan’s class is still indisputable.
Home country fans will temporarily not be able to witness the thunderous attack shots branded by Nguyen Van Quoc Duy (No. 5) in the national team.
This is one of the absences that makes home fans regret the most.
However, the opposition position on the national team is a very fierce competition between excellent names, forcing coach Tran Dinh Tien to choose the faces that best suit his tactical operation.
Pham Thoai Khuong played very well in the LaVie Long An shirt, on loan from Ho Chi Minh City
Not only possessing a handsome appearance, Pham Thoai Khuong has also proven his outstanding ability with great performances in the Lavie Long An shirt, creating conditions for strikers like Le Van Thanh or Vu.
Similar to the counter-pass position, the second pass position of the national team has two quality athletes, Dinh Van Duy and Dinh Van Tu. We hope that Thoai Khuong will be given the opportunity in the following call-ups.
Le Van Thanh (No. 5) makes a strong comeback this season
Returning after 1 year of retirement, moving to the South to start a career, Le Van Thanh had a perfect comeback in the Long An shirt, affirming the ability of one of the top attackers of Vietnamese men’s volleyball.
However, those performances are probably not enough for the striker from Ha Tinh to be selected.
Nguyen Xuan Duc (No. 4) left many impressions in phase I of this year’s National Championship
Along with Ly Van Chuong, Nguyen Xuan Duc is the mainstay of Hanoi volleyball at the present time.
However, he was not able to compete for a place in the national team with other experienced players such as Quan Trong Nghia, Nguyen Van Nam, etc.
